Ensemble Program

The Performance Ensemble program at That MUSIC PLACE provides a unique opportunity for our private lesson students who are studying guitar, bass guitar, piano, drums, and voice to become active members of a band.   Each band prepares and rehearses a show that they will perform in various venues in front of live audiences.   Ensemble bands hold rehearsals weekly and can expect to perform approximately 15-20 shows per year.Heavy emphasis is placed on the members learning to work and play together as one unit to entertain the audience.  Band members are encouraged to be creative with their performances and to try out new ideas for sound and visual effect.  Students are also given opportunities to learn about the other instruments used in their band.

 

Ensemble is one of those activities that students will encounter in their lives that will give them back what they put into it.  All band members are encouraged to participate as much as possible. They can ask questions, give feedback, listen to others ideas, and get involved. 

       

 

Three bands are currently active in the Performance Ensemble program, OVERRIDE, Shards band, and Left of Five.  The OVERRIDE band is a classic rock band with members ranging in age from 10-13 years of age.  To learn more about OVERRIDE including their performance schedule you can visit their MySpace page at www.myspace.com/theoverrideband.
